Stacey Niver, Albuquerque, NM Stacy is currently a junior at Eldorado High School in Albuquerque. Although no longer in a troop, Stacey has continued her commitment to Girl Scouts by attending Family Camp, Big Clean, Fall Pride, and Mom and Me at both Rancho Del Chaparral and Camp Elliott Barker. She has spent hundreds of hours over the years volunteering at Rancho Del Chaparral, staining, re-building, and repairing many of the buildings; in 2011, Stacey and her parents received a Council Service Award for this work. Stacey believes that “Girl Scouts is something worth supporting regardless of your age, cultural background, or financial situation because it is stupendous fun to be a Girl Scouts.” She also said that Girl Scouts is a way to connect with her community in ways that she never imagined and has inspired her to be a better person. |
