About Background Checks for the Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails
The safety and well-being of our girl members is a number one priority to us here at Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails. In order to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, we need to be able to ensure this safety. Parents, guardians, and girls trust that Girl Scouts is a protected and positive environment, and we are committed to maintaining policies and procedures that uphold this standard.
A criminal background check is a simple strategy put in place to help us uphold this standard of safety, and is a best practice used by youth serving agencies throughout the country. All members who are or will be supervising, facilitating, driving, or being otherwise responsible for the well-being and safety of our girls are required to complete a background check every two (2) years.
Our background checks are run by Intellicorp, a company accredited by the NAPBS Background Screeners Credentialing Council (BSCC). Together we work hard to make sure that your personal information is safeguarded. Our background check process is available online so that your information will never be in hardcopy and our staff will never see or have access to your full social security number. You can learn more about Intellicorp’s accreditation at: www.intellicorp.net.
Once your background check has been processed, you will receive an email informing you of your status. If you would like to check on the status of your Background Check, you can call Christopher Frain, our Information System Analyst at 505-923-2511 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
