Winter Recruitment 2017

The Membership Department at Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails is challenging all Girl Scout troops to help us give the Girl Scout experience to new girls.  Promoting the Girl Scout experience in our communities is a responsibility and commitment we all share, and together we can reach that goal.

This year’s recruitment challenge runs from February 1 – February 28, 2017, and allows for your troop win a $50 gift certificate to La Tienda if your troop is the “winning” troop who brings on the most new Girl Scouts.  Girls from the “winning” troop, as well as all girls from other troops who bring on new Girl Scouts, will earn a customized “girl recruiter” patch for each existing and new girl in your Girl Scout troop.

Beginning February 1, 2017, register new girls into your troop, please provide your Regional Manager the names of the new girls to be registered so the list can be cross-checked with your current troop roster (see form on next page) to complete for your Regional Manager.  New girls may register online at https://girlscouts.secure.force.com/girl or through our website (www.nmgirlscouts.org) and specify the troop in which they will be joining.  By registering online, new members will be quickly added to your troop.  A membership registration form may also be submitted for each new girl and given to the Shop, with payment of $30 per registration, for processing.  Registration timeframe begins February 1 and the deadline is  no later than Tuesday, February 28th at 5 p.m.  Please adhere to the deadline, as no extensions will be allowed.  For Albuquerque and Santa Fe troops, forms may be left in the Council drop box at your local office.  For troops in outlying areas, please give the registration forms to your Regional Manager before the February 28th, 5 p.m. deadline.

If every troop adds one to two more girls to their troop, we could increase our girl membership by over 500 girls!

 

How can you help us find those girls?

  1. Turn in any membership registrations you’ve been holding on to; call us, and we’ll pick up registration forms if you can’t make it to the Council office.
  2. Call girls from existing council lists who are wanting to be placed in a troop (Regional Managers can provide a list for your area).
  3. Challenge your girls to bring a friend to your next troop meeting.   Ask the girls if they know someone who may be interested in being a Girl Scout.
  4. Host a recruiting event at your next troop meeting or troop event.

Incentives will be provided to the troop no later than March 31st
