First Lego League is a fun and engaging way to introduce girls to STEM through engineering, computer science, and other science fields. Girl Scouts of NM Trails is partnered with the New Mexico First Lego League to excite girls about the power of technology.

Guided by FLL Core Values, FLL® teams build LEGO-based autonomous robots and develop research projects based on a real-world challenge that changes annually. The FLL Core Values are the cornerstones of the FLL program. They are among the fundamental elements that distinguish FLL from other programs of its kind. By embracing the Core Values, participants learn that friendly competition and mutual gain are not separate goals, and that helping one another is the foundation of teamwork.

If you are interested in participating in the yearly competition, we have complete kits ready to rent. Each kit comes complete with everything you need to build your own LEGO robot, and you can even rent a previous year's challenge mat with obstacles to practice programming your robot. If you find that FLL is for you and your troop, register a team through First. For more information, visit the NM FLL website.
