What is the mask policy?
Masks will be required by all campers, staff, and parents dropping
off/picking up. They are required to be worn over the nose, mouth, and
chin. Masks will not be required while eating, sleeping, or during
What will the sleeping
situation be like?
To allow for better social distancing all sleeping areas will be at
half capacity (two people per tent, four per Hogan/Adirondacks, and 3
– 4 per cabin depending on the numbers of bunks inside). Campers will
only be inside to sleep, rest time will take place in an outdoor space.
What will the group sizes
All groups will be limited to eight (8) girls and their counselors.
These “pods” will not physically interact with other pods while at
camp (they still see each other from a distance though 😊).
Why are there no weekend camps?
In order to accommodate deeper cleaning and sanitation processes.
This is not a forever change. If you’re still interested in taking
your family or troop to our camp properties check out our rental
Who will be doing the cleaning?
Campers will still be responsible for cleaning the living space that
they use at camp during the session (sweeping floors, making their
bed, etc). Camp staff will perform enhanced cleaning of supplies after
use, group areas after use, and whole units after the close of the
session. Our wonderful Rangers will follow up by using a sanitizing
fogger machine in group areas over the weekends.
Is a professional cleaning
service being used?
Not at this time.
What will meals look like?
At Rancho we will be dividing the dining hall into separate sections
for each pod to eat safely away from the others. Social distancing
will be enforced at the tables with plenty of room between campers.
At Elliott Barker meals will either be in a ventilated, covered area
or through a rotation schedule inside the dining hall. Ventilation via
windows and doors will be utilized at both dining halls.
Will staff be vaccinated?
Vaccinations will be required for staff. Thankfully, Summer Camp
Staff are considered childcare workers and have been bumped up in
their ability to receive a vaccine.
Are campers required to be
vaccinated (adults or youth)?
We are not requiring vaccines but are highly
encouraging people 16 and older to get one if they are able to.
Will “quarantine” be
required for staff or campers?
At this time we are unsure, quarantine is not required on the state
level but we have considered it for any counties that are red still.
Staff will be at camp for two (2) weeks prior to camper arrival, this
will serve as a “quarantine” time period for them.
What other NPIs
(nonpharmacological interventions – nonmedicine practices) will you
We will also be implementing increased hand sanitizing (and lotion
for those dried out hands), daily or every other day temperature and
symptom checks, increased and deeper cleaning procedures between
groups with stronger cleaners increased training for staff in COVID
safe measures, and more.
If we register for camp and
it is forced to close due to COVID will we receive a refund?
Please see our general refund policy. Deposits will not be refunded
under any circumstance.
We want to attend camp on
our own as a troop/family, can we rent a cabin/building?
Yes! Rentals will be available for Barker and Rancho. Please contact
us by emailing [email protected] or by calling
