Girls Need Us Now More Than Ever

As we take stock of the current situation and look ahead, we see that girls are extremely vulnerable right now. Not only are they facing an uncertain world and interruptions and gaps in their educational experiences, they are also experiencing feelings of isolation, depression, and anxiety. Participation in virtual and in-person small-group, interactive developmental activities is our answer to this need. We have changed the way we deliver, but the Girl Scout Leadership Experience remains the same.  

We need your help to continue to deliver virtual high-quality instructional programming and socialization experiences for girls across New Mexico. Unrestricted donations power expanded training for staff and volunteers, new equipment and software, access to digital communication platforms, broader internet access, travel to rural communities, rental fees for space, educational materials and supplies, and the cost to advertise programs so we can ensure we’re making the maximum impact on girls in central and northern New Mexico. 

The shift from in-person meetings and events to virtual engagement has uncovered needs that were unanticipated. The silver lining, however, is the discovery of new and innovative ways to reach more girls through digital delivery of our educational programs. We are doing this so well that our council’s response has garnered national attention from colleagues across the country, and GSUSA.
