How far will your Girl Scout experience take you?

Girl Scouts love to travel—from the field trips they take as Brownies to the global adventures they go on as teens. If you love exploring different places and cultures, then Girl Scouts is the place for you. There are many ways to travel!

You can experience all that our country has to offer, whether you’re “blasting off” at Space Camp in Alabama, taking in a Broadway show in New York City, or visiting the birthplace of Girl Scouts’ founder, Juliette Gordon Low, in Savannah, Georgia. And you can plan even bigger adventures around the world, traveling with other Girl Scouts who share your love of adventure.

Troop Travel toggle arrow

Troops wanting to plan their own travel opportunities can start the process by taking Troop Travel Training. EF Tours and Holbrook Travel also offer approved Girl Scout travel packages that fall within the Girl Scout guidelines that are great for troops.

An Activity & Money Earning Notification is required for any troop-hosted event, including an overnight or high-risk activity as defined in the most current version of Safety Activity Checkpoints. An Extended Overnight Trip Application is required before final plans are confirmed for any troop-hosted domestic travel longer than two nights or international travel. These forms are not required for participation in council-hosted programs. The application is necessary to ensure that all GSNMT safety policies, standards, and guidelines are properly met before Girl Scouts participate in the activity.

Council-Sponsored Trips toggle arrow

Occasionally, Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails will plan trips led by council staff. There is an application process for some trips, while others are open to any Girl Scout who wishes to register. Girls travel in groups but not necessarily with troop members. The locations of these trips vary (local to international); travel costs vary accordingly. Search our Activities to find upcoming trips.
