Virtual -  Brownies and Juniors

Step into the role of a real wildlife scientist during this hands-on virtual STEM program! In this exciting investigation, Girl Scouts will explore the fascinating world of owls and discover how scientists study ecosystems by examining owl pellets.

Before the program, each registered Girl Scout will receive a pellet dissection kit mailed to their home, including a sterilized owl pellet and the basic tools needed for the investigation. During the live online session, girls will work alongside a facilitator to carefully dissect their pellet and uncover the tiny bones hidden inside.

Brownies will work toward the Brownie Shapes in Nature Badge

Juniors will work toward the Junior Animal Habitats Badge

Along the way, girls will learn amazing facts about owls such as the Barn Owl and the Great Horned Owl, and discover how these silent nighttime hunters play an important role in keeping ecosystems balanced.

By the end of the program, participants will have completed the badge requirements, practiced real scientific investigation skills, and solved the mystery of what their owl ate!
