The Racism and Hate Have No Place Here Patch Program from Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails empowers girls to recognize bias, challenge unfairness, and take meaningful action for equity and inclusion. Through a self-guided journey of reading, watching, reflecting, creating, and leading, Girl Scouts of all levels will explore identity, understand the impact of racism, and develop strategies to make their communities more welcoming and just
Grounded in the Girl Scout Promise and Law and aligned with GSUSA's Equity & Belonging and My Values: Anti-Racism initiatives, this program encourages empathy, critical thinking, and courageous leadership. Girls may complete activities individually, with family, or as a troop during February, selecting developmentally appropriate experiences from suggested books, films, discussion prompts, creative projects, and community action ideas

By earning the patch, Girl Scouts demonstrate their commitment to standing against racism and hate while strengthening their voice, creativity, and leadership. Families and caregivers are encouraged to engage in open conversations, listen actively, and support girls as they explore these important topics. This program also connects to badge work and Journeys across all Girl Scout levels, reinforcing identity, empathy, community engagement, and the power of every girl to make a positive difference.
