In Person - Santa Fe
Step inside New Mexico's state government and discover what it means to make your voice heard! Girl Scouts are invited to the New Mexico State Capitol, the Roundhouse, during a legislative session for a behind-the-scenes look at how laws are made and how decisions impact our communities.
Girls will explore the historic Roundhouse, learn about the legislative process, meet with legislators or government leaders (when available), and discover how citizens can participate in government. Through interactive activities and age-appropriate discussions, Girl Scouts will practice leadership, advocacy, civic engagement, and speaking up for issues they care about.
Whether girls dream of becoming a future elected official or simply want to better understand how New Mexico works, this experience will inspire them to recognize the power of their voice-and use it to make a difference in their community!
